As announced during Steve Balmer’s CES keynote speech on Wednesday evening Microsoft releases the first official beta of their new operating system Windows 7 to the masses today. I’ve been running Windows 7, build 7000 (the official beta build) for about two weeks now on various pieces of hardware and are extremely impressed with Microsoft’s latest offering. There have been mixed stories about Microsoft limiting the total number of beta downloads to 2.5 million so you may want to jump in as soon as you can… however if you are member of TechNet, MSDN or a certified Microsoft Partner you should be good to go. Trust me, you’ll want to download and play with this puppy… Microsoft seems to be on the right track with this one.
