Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 Becomes Sentient?

I’m going to start off this quick blog post with a warning. It is both silly and ridiculous, but I’m posting it anyway because I found it hilarious in the moment.

The Back Story and Technojargon
So I was listening to Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 this afternoon (the files of which are stored in my music share of my HP Mediasmart Home Server) when a strange occurrence happened. My home server was running just fine but when the song “Robot Rock / Oh Yeah” began to play the LED hard drive indicator lights on the home server began to blink alternating colors in time with the music (somewhat).

This was funny to me for multiple reasons. First, the lights have never blinked in this manner during the two years I’ve owned this server. Second, the song choice for this strange effect couldn’t have been more perfect. Third, there are no error reports or failures on the server so I’m not sure why it decided to get down and funky. Lastly, I’m a dork with entirely too much time on his hands who is obviously easily amused.

Okay, enough’s enough. My corniness knows know bounds. Check out the video embedded below or view it in full HD at YouTube. Or better yet completely blacklist me for being a schmuck.

Video shot in HD using a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS.
