Family Tree

In early 2000 I began a quest to find out more about my extended family. The internet was young then, but it was amazing how much information I found online about my family with some basic sleuthing. Once I opened Pandora's box I was hooked, and I kept digging and digging. I managed to make it back nearly 200 years and seven generations. After a while, the trail went cold and I lost interest, and here I am a decade later finally picking up where I left off.

A decade ago, the Groux family as I know it started and ended with my grandmother Marjorie Russel, my father Robert Edward Groux Sr. and his two siblings Hazel Marie Groux and Charles Vernon Groux. My grandfather, Raymond Robert Groux died on November 28, 1986 in Lovermore, California… my family and I never met him. I was however lucky enough to spend several memorable summers with his brother Leo Groux of Columbus, GA before he passed.

While my immediate family is both blessed and large in size, I still want to know more about our heritage. So, that brings me to the purpose of this page. I feel that if I include my familial history on my blog as I know it that it will keep me motivated to keep searching and filling in the gaps as I go. Hopefully the information posted here will help other Grouxs (and Groulx) fill in the blanks along the way.

I will continue to update the family trees as I go along, and I'm happy to say that the Grouxs of Houston have added three children to the tree since my initial construction. This page will also evolve as I go along, and I try to integrate the family trees into the blog so help with Google searches. I will also be expanding the Veatch side of my family tree as well, so check back often.

For the time being, until I find a better way of displaying all of my family members I will be listing only my direct tree. I will expand it when I find a proper way to do so.
